Giving Our Best to the Lord

Reading today in Exodus 25 and on I am amazed at the detail that was put into the tabernacle and its furniture.  It was a great act of God giving a plan and his people giving and putting their best into this sanctuary, so “that He may dwell in their midst” (Exodus 25:8).

We have a clear plan of life and action set in the Scriptures.  Do we do our best to follow it so that he may dwell in our midst?

I was reading in 2 Chronicles 5 yesterday about the temple Solomon built and I was wondering about the complexity and design of the temple. Your post help me to think even deeper than “Labor and Materials” and more on “that He may dwell in their midst!” These thoughts bring me to another level of worship, just to thank about the splendor of Yahweh dwelling with his people. Here is a taste from what I read yesterday:

“13…with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord,

    “For he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever,”

the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God” (1 Chronicles 5:13-14).

Wish I could have seen it. What a marvel. This is the place where God himself comes down.

On the flip side, if I were there I would have marveled at the the Holy Spirit’s indwelling of God’s children after the Savior came.
